Faringdon is one of South Oxfordshire's most characterful market towns, sitting on an ancient ridgeway hill between Wantage and Swindon. The town has a distinctive independent high street, a good primary school, Faringdon Community College and a range of local pubs and restaurants. Faringdon Folly Tower is one of the last follies built in England (1935) and is a local landmark.
New homes at Bellmount View — an exclusive Green & Co development on the edge of town — have brought premium new properties to Faringdon, with panoramic views across the Vale of the White Horse.
